Did you notice?

Look at Captain Actions hands in the large pic on the left.  Not the hands as we know them now.  The boots have a yellow lightening bolt and they are clearly made of a soft vinyl material unlike the hard plastic final boots.

Superman's mask is clearly a drawing, and the hands on that figure are GIJoe's. He too has soft vinyl boots. No straps on the chains in the box set, and look at the way "uniform and equipment" appears.

Aquaman has GIJoe hands and he is not wearing any flippers.  Seems they didn't fit back then either.

Sgt Fury has a drawn on facemask and GIJoe hands.

The Lone Ranger is a Joe and check out the cool guns and holster paint.  The hat appears to have no flocking or band.  Blue shirt and black pants, just like the boxart.

Steve Canyon is a Joe and his mask is a drawing.

The Phantom is also a Joe and he has a Steve Canyon Knife, and the figure lacks stripes on his shorts.  The belt on the figure looks odd.

Batman might not be a Joe, hard to tell, the hand looks drawn in.  He looks pretty close to the production one.  Dig that crazy belt buckle.  Plenty of rope for the batreel.

Flash Gordon looks like a Joe and his face is clearly drawn in.

Captain America looks alot like his old self, despite is Joe like frame.
