Uniform and Equipment for CAPTAIN ACTION

Steve Canyon outfit in the standard Ideal costume box.   Steve Canyon was first issued in 1966 as part of the original line of Captain Action accessories, and was later reissued in a ring box starting in 1967.  The accessories include a Suit, Face Mask, Belt & Holster, 50 Mission Hat, 45 Automatic, Boots, Knife, Oxygen Mask, and Helmet.
Steve Canyon Outfit in ring box.  Same stuff, different box.  As you can see in the lower right hand portion of the box the arrow proclaims "Its New! For you" an interesting promotional item that was introduced with the second series of costumes.
Steve Canyon Flicker Ring.  The ring features a picture of Captain Action, and then when viewed from a slightly different angle, a picture of Steve Canyon.  The ring inserts were made by Vari View, and had a sliver plastic base.  The inserts were later available in larger blue bases and were sold in gum ball machines.
Captain Action Steve Canyon bodysuit and Face Mask, on costume dummy.   Green One piece jumpsuit with a zipper down the front.  The pockets are drawn on, except for the one on the left sleeve.   There is an insignia of a gold eagle with a red star on the right sleeve.
Steve Canyon's Face Mask.  This is the original "white lipped" version.  The Steve Canyon mask has the trademark black streak on the right side of his hair, which looks like it was applied with a Magic Marker.  The first time you see one of these masks you will probably think its not supposed to be there, but it is (So don't try and remove it).
Steve Canyon's Boots.  Black plastic with stitching on either side, left and right interchangeable.  Similar to the Sgt Fury boots, but those do not have the embossed stitching (a good way to tell them apart).
Steve Canyon's Belt & Holster.  Olive drab rubber with white paint accents.  The same basic design as the belt from the Sgt Fury set, but without the ammo pouches.
Steve Canyon's 50 Mission Hat, olive drab rubber with dark blue paint, and a silver painted eagle on the front.  Similar to the sailor's cap that came with the captain Action figure, but it is larger and has an elaborate eagle and leaves on the brim.
Steve Canyon's Helmet.  White plastic with dark blue and silver paint.  The goggles portion doesn't move.  There is a knob on either side for attaching the Oxygen Mask.  Looks to have popped out of the same mold as the Power Pack Helmet, although this one is hard plastic and  that one was cast in rubber.
Steve Canyon's Oxygen Mask.  Olive drab rubber with white paint.  Attaches to the helmet via the loops on the straps.
Steve Canyon's Parachute. Olive drab rubber with brown paint and white buttons.  Decorative, but not functional.  It straps on Captain Action's back, his arms go through the loops on top and the lower straps go between his legs and attach to the loops on the middle straps.  Tends to shrink with age and can be a tight fit.
Steve Canyon's Knife.  Black plastic with a silver painted blade.  This knife was also used in the Weapons Arsenal.   There is no sheath for the knife, which is one reason they tend to be found without melt marks.  You can always follow the advice on the Phantom set and stick it in his boot.
Steve Canyon's 45 Automatic, black plastic with silver paint on the hammer.  The classic 45 that was also used in the second issue Phantom set, cast in green for Sgt Fury, and painted silver for the Weapons Arsenal.
